Football
By Daniel Smith
3315 receiver catch
Stage: Intermediate/expert
Stage characteristics: The player pulls the ball in to the appropriate position however exhibits some doubt in his ability to catch the ball. He does keep his shoulders forward but fails to keep his head up.
What to change: the receiver spends too much time with his eyes on the quarterback and should have a greater knowledge of the reception point. There should be no need for him to maintain eye contact once the ball is in his hands.
Cue: Know your route and reception point eyes forward.
Stage Characteristics: Receiver Ran forward but kept his eyes focused on the ball. He reached out to catch the ball with both hands and his hands were in a diamond shape to avoid dropping the ball. He watched ball even as in went into his hands, then tucked the ball. Great execution of skill.
What to change: He executed this skill very well.
Cue: If he needed a cue you could say "eyes on ball, hands in diamond, tuck"
