Volleyball
Daniel Smith
3408 Spikes
Stage: Intermediate/beginner
Stage characteristics: All three players exhibit proper hand position, they maintain eye contact .
What to change: All three exhibit inappropriate foot positioning , the first two kicked out with their right leg when landing, the second and third jumped way too soon not giving them the clearance over the net.
Cue: Jump and land closer to the net.
Improvement
10. Spiking
Stage: Intermediate
Stage Characteristics:
1. Great approach going into spike
2. Jumps fairly high
3. Swings arm and comes into contact with ball in air
What to Change: One major improvement is for her to jump more vertically because her momentum is still carrying her into the net. The second girl could improve her approach going into the spike. She also needs to work on jumping vertical and to not kick her legs back in the middle of the jump. Both girls should use their upper bodies more for power because both are just using their arms.
Cue: Jump vertically
Work on approach
Use upper bodies for more power
Stage:
Stage: Intermediate
Characteristics:
The athletes shown were showing how to jump and use the arms to create a more powerful spike.
What to Change:
As these athletes approach the net, they need to jump straight up, not continue their forward momentum, as they show with their leaps. They need the extra height from a good vertical jump.
Cue: Jump UP, not OUT!!
Spiking
Stage: Intermediate
Stage Characteristics: Players do a good job of getting into the air and striking the ball.
What to change: Really explode and try to get as much height as you can. Then really hit the ball with power to make it harder to hit.
Cue: Get in the air!!!!
spiking
Stage:Intermediate
Stage Characteristics:all 3 players had an ok approach. They were lacking confidence on there approach. They use there hands good to get momentum to jump up. They get ok elevation and make good contact with the ball.
What to Change:Need to try and get higher in the air so that when they spike the ball it comes stright down into the other teams court.
Cue:work on getting elevation when spiking it.

Volleyball Spikes PES 294
Stage: Intermediate.
Stage Characteristics: All players involved had the general idea of the appraoch and motions associated with the spike but have not yet perfected it. All participants were vertical in the air and used their arms in their take offs. Some control and coordination was lacking.
What to change: The steps leading up to the take off could be a little cleaner and more coordinated for a beeter take off and approach.
Cue: Coordinated steps on approach.
