Improvement
Stage: Intermediate
Stage Characteristics:
1. Approach the ball
2. Contact the ball with forehead
3. Hit/pass the ball with head to a target
What to Change: One improvement would be for the player to work on his approach when coming into the header. He could improve his steps or even jump up in the air to contact the ball.
Cues: Work with approach
Jump to head
Aim to gain
Elizabeth Wood PES 294 Heading
Stage:
Intermediate/Expert
Stage Characteristics:
He is concentrating on the ball coming at him. He gets is body in ready position. The ball looks to make contact at the frontal bone; near the hairline. His posture looks good.
What to Change:
I thought this looked good. Continue to watch the ball and the players around you.
Cue:
Keep you eyes on the ball; body placement
Soccer Header
Stage: Intermediate
Stage Characteristics: The soccer player seems confident in his ability to head the soccer ball. He has good body positioning and has a good idea of where the ball is, keeping an eye on it until time to perform the header.
What to Change: I would not change anything in the way this individual performs a header. This could change however in a game like situation when this individual would be asked to make a header in a more stressful situation.
Cues: Arms forward, bounce off forehead, stiff neck & chin to chest.
