Improvement
Stage: Intermediate
Stage Characteristics:
1. Ball at corner of field
2. Running approach towards ball
3. Contact with ball & kicking ball towards inner field
What to Change: One major improvement is for the player to work on placement of the soccer ball. He could switch to use a different part of his foot when contacting the ball, contact the ball at a different location, and/or adjust the force used on the ball. A minor improvement would be to raise his right arm and drop it prior to contact with the ball so the players know when to execute the play. The motion of the arm could also influence force exerted onto the ball.
Cues: Aim to gain
Work on placement
Place ball in scoring position
Good Corner Kick
Stage: Intermediate.
Characteristics: Great kicking power. Foot scooped under the ball very nicely, resulting in a good level of arch.
Change: Aim can be improved. A few yards closer to the goal would have been sufficient for great placement.
Coaching Cue: Work on ball placement, great work!
