Shot

Stage: Beginner

Stage Characteristic: Player is holding ball properly and has shooting foot forward. Improperly shoots the ball.

What to Change: The player needs to use their arms and wrists to release the ball, not shot-put it to the basket. They needs to stay balanced in their stance and not jump forward to basket as they shoot. Also need to shoot with one hand and follow through.

Cue: keep balance, don't jump forward

Stage: beginner
Stage Comment: it more of a push then a shot and the jump and the shot happen at the same time
What to change: jump first then when at the top of you jump shoot. try not to shoot from the side of your head you want to keep the ball infront of you while you shoot. Also use your rist to shoot the ball
Cues: jump then shoot and use more of your wrist

basketball shot skill analysis video

Stage: Beginner
Stage Characterists: A few things that tell me this is a beginner: 1. Her feet are vary narrow. She doesn't have a solid base. 2. She is shooting the ball from the side of her body instead of in the middle. 3. Her hand placement on the ball is not appropriate. Her left hand should be more on the side of the ball instead of out in front. 4. Her release is more of a push than a shot. She needs to shoot the ball up not out.
What to change: The first thing I would change would be her hand placement. Her shooting hand should be in the middle of the ball on the ball. Only her finger tips should be touching the ball. Her left hand should be on the left side of the ball just to help the ball stay in place on her shooting hand. When she shoots up she should focus on shooting up not out and her hand should finish above her head with her wrist cocked in a follow through motion.
Cue: I have two important cues
1. Finger tips only on the ball. You should be able to see light between your hand and the ball.
2. Shoot up and have wrist stay in the cookie jar(the basket)

Stage: Beginner Stage
