Arabesque Analysis
For this video I am going to split the analysis up into two analyzing each of the two views separately.
First View:
Stage: Intermediate
Stage Characteristics: The stage is intermediate because the performer's non-weight supporting leg is bent but the performer does do a good job keeping the chest erect and the head up.
What to Change: In order for this view to be expert is would be necessary for the performer to straiten the extended leg and point the toe. The left arm can also be brought towards the front of the performer's body.
Cue: lock extended knee so that the leg is straightened.
Second View:
Stage: Expert
Stage Characteristics: The stage is expert because the performer's leg is fully extended and straight, the toe is pointed, and the head is up.
What to Change: This view can be improved by the performer bringing to foot down so that the toe is only a few inches from the ground. By dropping the toe, it will allow for the posture to become more erect and perpendicular to the ground.
Cue: Bring pointed toe down so that it is two inches from the ground.
Arabesque Analysis
Arabesque
The stage; of Arabesque the Gymnast is in a beginning level.
The Stage Characteristics; of the beginning stage Arabesque movement on the video are flexion of the Hamstring rather than the Gluteus Maximums depicting a bent knee. Moreover, an Arabesque is done with the ankle in Plantar rather than Dorsi flexion.
What to change; correct posture, control of the feet, pulled-up knees and a straight body. The upper body should tilt forward slightly, the chest should be raised and the supporting leg is straight. Arms need to extend in opposition of the legs.
Cue; point the toe extend through fingertips.
