Recommended Skill Analysis Task
Stage: Identify the stage of the skill that is exhibited (e.g. beginner, intermediate, expert).
Stage Characteristics: Describe 2-3 features of the movement on the video that is characteristic of the stage identified.
What to Change: Identify and describe the most important aspect of the skill that will need to be changed for the subject to improve.
Cue: Write the single most important verbal instructional cue to help the performer improve.
Call for Contribution
Comments on individual video clips are encouraged, especially in the form of analysis of the subjects' technique.
Video contributions to this project are also welcomed. Use the contact form to request details on video uploads and participant consent forms.
Purpose
This project has the following primary purposes: (a) to provide video of subjects performing sport skills at varying levels of expertise as a medium for teachers, coaches, and students to practice movement analysis, (b) to provide video demonstration models of sport skills and games for learners, teachers, and coaches, and (c) present a platform for the professional community to contribute video and dialog to more thoroughly accomplish the aforementioned purposes. PES 294, Skill Analysis
Stage:Intermediate/Expert
Stage Characteristics: Player blocked and found opponent with arms. He turned his back to his opponent and created a stable wall between the opponent and the ball. His arms were out and palms were wide while he still felt for his opponent behind him.
What to Change: Player could put his buttocks under his opponent's hips so he can better hold his position.
Cue: "Use hips"
Box Out Technique
Stage: Intermediate
Stage Characteristics: He uses both forearms to find player. He's movement is very slow and a box out must be quick in order to find the ball. You can't back the player up, you must hold the player.
What to Change: Find the player, step through the player, but your but on him and hold him.

Stage characteristics: Player holds elbows out pushing on defender turns his back with hands out leaning against the defender.
What to change: During the box out you need to be aware of where the ball is scanning be careful not to grab and when turning your back push out with your bottom,not your shoulders thus maintaining balance.
Cue: Scan turn push with bottom.

Stage Characteristics: Put a good body on offensive player, good energy
What to change: Don’t push, block out
Cue: Put a body on the offensive player and arm bar
Improvement

Stage Characteristics:
1. In between basket and man
2. Facing player and when ball shot, turns around
3. Arms out for rebound
What to Change: The person on defense needs to bend his knees and get down lower. Prior to the shot the player should touch the player with one hand, not push with both hands. This will give him more balance. When boxing out, the player should bend his knees, keep his arms out for the rebound, and back his player out of rebound position using his bottom.
