Stage:Intermediate/advanced S
Stage:Intermediate/advanced
Stage characteristics: her form and mechanics are good.
What to change: to run up in order to get more distinace and speed on the ball.
Cues:run up to the in line
Stage:
Stage: Intermediate/Advanced
Characteristics: The player took steps forward before the throw. She held the ball in both hands while extended the ball directly over and behind her head. She extended forward with both arms through the throw. Her feet did not leave the ground during the throw (she did not try to jump to apply more force to the ball).
What To Change: To throw-in with more force, she could prepare by running with the ball towards the sideline. Without knowing how other players are positioned, though, her form may be correct in this example.
Cue: Build up the force by running before the throw.
Soccer throwin skill analysis
Stage: Intermiate/Advanced
Stage Characterists: The player makes sure to keep one foot on the ground by dragging the back foot. She keeps two hands on the ball at all times and brings the ball back behind her head. She makes sure not to step inbounds on her throw.
What to Change: The only advice I would give this person is to throw it harder and farther they shoud get a running start on this throw but they have all the basics covered.
Cue: Take a few steps to run up to the side line to maximize distance.
Throw in
Intermediate Level. Stepped up to the line, used both hands to toss overhead, drug the back foot up to the front. The only thing would be do throw with a little more purpose and strength. It looks like she was just lobing the ball in instead of throwing it to an intended target.
Throw in
Stage: beginner
Stage Characteristics: She takes a couple of steps forward, uses both hands to toss the ball, brings the ball behind her head, and releases the throw when the ball is over her head.
What to change: Throw harder to get the ball farther away and work on a running throw.
Cue: Try to run and throw it in. Everything else looks good.
Soccer Throw in
I believe this student is in the advanced level for this skill.
1) She creates momentum by taking several steps to the sideline. She does lead with the opposite foot when the throw occurs.
2) Her hands are overhead and she uses her full range of motion.
3) Follow through is evident by both hands going forward and toward the receiver.
** If the receiver were far away she could have ran toward the line to generate more force. However, the receiver must have been relatively close and she did not need more distance on the pass.
Cues I would use to teach this skill -
1) Look before passing (be sure the receiver is expecting the pass, and is open for the pass)
2) Step opposite first (if right handed lead with the left foot, and if left handed lead with the right foot)
3) Hands above head (this is a requirement for the soccer throw in)
