1. Demonstrates staying low
2. Demonstrates staying balanced

Stage: Intermediate Stage

Stage: Intermediate

Stage Characteristics: Demonstrates the importance of staying low to the ground, keeping the shot put next to the neck, and releasing high and explosive.

What to Change:
1. Glide across the ring; don't hop.
2. When blocking with the left arm, start out with the arm extended towards the ground. When rotating and pushing off the ground, hold elbow at 90 degree angle as it passes in front of you. The smaller moment of inertia will allow for faster rotation of the body and get the shot put to fly farther!

Cue: Block with the left arm.
