Kick Punch Combos
Stage: Beginner/Intermediate
Stage Characteristics: Student does not pivot off his right foot. This results in a weaker right cross as he is not able to generate enough force through his hips. Reaction to visual cues (pads) was faster than beginner level.
What to Change: Student should focus on shifting the momentum from his left hip during his kick to his right side as he punches. Pivoting off the ball of his right foot will ensure that he follows trough with his right hip.
Cue: Left to right

Kicking and Punching
Stage: Intermediate
Characteristics:
The kick boxer shows great speed with the transitions he makes from a kick to a punch, he continues to stay balanced as he transitions from left to right and right to left. He never seems to loose sight of the skills he is working on. He is wearing proper gear which is important when punching and or kicking with a great force. If I could encourage him to work on a particular skill, I would tell he to stay loose and try to maintain a feather light complex. If he continues to stay heavy on his feet he will not increase his speed or momentum so it is important to stay on the balls of your toes which will help you manuever from side to side faster.
Cue: "Light on your feet"
Analysis
Stage:Intermediate
Stage Characteristics: He knows more than someone just starting out. He was balanced and he had good reaction time. He didn't pivot his front foot when he was changing which leg he was kicking with, thus giving him less power behind the kicks.
What to Change: He needs to not plant his feet in between punches and kicks, he also needs to pivot his front foot when throwing the kick so that he can get more power.
Cue: Control your body, hit your target.
