Two handed Frisbee Catch.
Stage:
intermediate to expert.
Stage Characteristics:
Eyes on target the whole time.
Hands out ready to receive the Frisbee.
Good catch.
What to Change:
I would tell the student to try and get in front of the Frisbee so if you fumbled the Frisbee he would have a better chance of catching it using his chest.
Cue:
Step in front of the Frisbee.
Two handed "C"
Stage: Intermediate/Expert
Stage Characteristics: The catcher formed a “C” with both hands. He clamped down with the thumb and fingers as the frisbee arrived.
What to Change: The catcher could try to bend the knees and look like he’s in a more ready position to catch the frisbee. This was a very good two handed “C” catch.
Cue: Bend your knees
Two Handed "C" Catch
Stage: Intermediate to Expert (individual in the blue shirt)
Stage Characteristic: Thought there are two individuals catching a frisbee in this video it is the individual in the blue shirt who is performing the two handed "C" catch. I nhoticed that this individual keeps his eyes on the frisbee as it approaches him and continues to do so until he gains full control of the frisbee. By keeping his eye on the frisbee he is allowing himself a better opportunity to cleanly catch the frisbee. He also does a great job of catching the frisbee with both hands. By doing this he is able to secure the frisbee without juggling it. He also raises both arms to catch the frisbee at its highest point. This is a good habit to get into, because if this were a game it would give him an advantage over a defender who might be coming in to swat the frisbee away.
What to Change: This individual performed the catch with above average skill, I see nothing in which he needs to change.
Cues: Continue to keep eyes on the frisbee, contact frisbee with both hands at the same time.
