Analysis
Stage: medium
Stage Characteristcs: She did well with heading the ball with the right spot on her head. she also did well with following through with the ball (meaning: she pushed/moved her head forward when she headed the ball)
What to change: I would bend you knees a little more so your ready for the ball wherever it is comeing from. I would also give a little more from the arms( as in more force)
Cue: Head the ball with the upper part of your fourhead start with knees bent in an athletic position.
Analysis
Stage: Medium/Beginnner
Stage Characteristics: Form my perspective it looks as if the athlete catches the ball and doesn't brace and go through the soccer ball. She does make proper contact with the top of her head. Hands are at side but could be in a better position to make this contact and maitain balance.
What to change: It also looks like she blinks. Blinking for a split second can change the ability of the player to properly strike the ball with the center of their head. A proper positioning of herself prior to making contact would also help with striking the ball. Another words running under the ball prior to attempting the heading would put her in a better position.
Cue: Look through your eyebrows at the soccer ball prior to making contact.
Header
Stage: Intermediate
Stage Characteristics:
1. Runs back so she is behind the ball.
2. Contacted the ball with her forehead.
What to Change: Tried to be planted behind the ball when she contacts the ball.
Cue: Push up and forward.
Header
Stage: intermediate
Characteristics: Ball is tossed to the player by another participant. The ball is thrown in a manner that the the athlete must move in order to get in position to strike. The athlete headed the ball with her forehead, and appeared to control the direction.
What to Change: consistent toss to practice technique
Cues: set your feet, head up and through the ball.
analysis "Header"
Stage: intermediate
Stage Characteristics: the ball is tossed in the air above head, the player then hits the ball with her forehead in a forward motion.
What to Change:
1. the player needs to start out in a more athletic position. knees bent, keep more forward on her feet. this will help to get in front of the ball better
Cue: athletic position
Stage: intermediate Stage
Stage: intermediate
Stage characteristics: The ball is slightly back and to the right of the player. she moves her feet in order to get behind and under the ball to head the ball in a forward movement.
What to change: faster footwork so that you can get in position sooner. that way she can bend her knees in order to get more power behind the ball
Cue: Keep your eye on the ball. Bend knees
